1. Platform policies
CalSnap is available on both iOS and Android. Apps downloaded through the Apple App Store or Google Play may also be subject to their respective platform policies, including Apple's and Google's privacy and data handling terms, in addition to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information we collect
Meal Photos (Scan Feature): if you choose to use meal scanning, the photo you submit is processed to identify food items and estimate nutritional values (calories/macros). Nutritional Logs: information you log (calories, macros) is used to visualize progress and, if enabled, to generate summaries. Health & Activity Data (Apple Health / Google Fit / Health Connect): with your explicit permission, CalSnap can read your steps and active energy (calories burned) from your device's health platform. Barcode scan results. Product nutrition information. Usage Data: limited in-app interactions and basic diagnostics to improve performance. Uploaded content and images may be securely stored using trusted cloud infrastructure providers to support app functionality. Device information may be collected for security and abuse prevention. AI Coach Conversations: if you use the AI Coach, the messages you send and the coach's replies are stored to provide conversation history and continuity.
3. AI data processing
To provide AI-powered features, CalSnap uses AI technology and trusted AI service providers. Meal Scanning: meal photos may be securely processed by AI systems to identify food items and estimate nutritional values. Weekly Smart Reports: logged nutrition information and weight progress may be processed by AI systems to generate summaries and insights. AI Coach: when you use the AI Coach, your profile details, goals, nutrition logs, weight progress, activity data, and the messages you send may be securely processed by AI systems to generate personalized coaching responses. Nutrition-related product data and barcode scan results may be securely processed by AI systems to generate nutrition insights and health analysis. Product information and product images may be retrieved from trusted third-party food databases to provide barcode scanning functionality. If you do not use AI features, no data is transmitted to AI service providers.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above to provide AI-powered nutrition insights, a personalized AI Coach, and calorie tracking, display activity and step data synced from Apple Health, Google Fit, or Health Connect, improve app reliability and user experience, and manage subscriptions and premium features purchased through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Barcode scan functionality may retrieve product information and product images from trusted third-party food databases.
5. Data sharing & third parties
AI service providers: limited information may be processed only as necessary to provide AI-powered features. We may use trusted third-party providers to support app functionality, AI-powered features, analytics, subscriptions, health integrations, and infrastructure. Health Platform Data (Apple Health / Google Fit / Health Connect): we do not sell or share your health platform data for advertising or marketing — it is used only to provide app functionality, in line with Apple App Store and Google Play policies. Subscription billing is handled by Apple and Google according to their respective terms. We do not sell personal data.
6. Data retention & deletion
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide and improve our services, unless a longer retention period is required by law. AI Coach conversations are retained to provide history and continuity, and can be deleted along with your other in-app data on request by emailing support@callsnap.app. You can manage subscription data through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings, and you can request deletion of your in-app data at any time by emailing us at support@callsnap.app.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
